If you have a radio that does not work in CHIRP-next because it requires attention, you may choose to run the older legacy version. However, it no longer receives any updates, including new models, bug fixes, etc. The "legacy" build of chirp contains support for some drivers that are not yet fixed in CHIRP-next due to ongoing development efforts.
